At the age of two Adelines father passed away. The family moved to Fergus Falls, MN where her mothers family lived. When Adeline turned five her dads brother, Rueben, invited her and her mom to move to Gardiner to reside with him and his son, Robert (Bob). Following Adelines graduation from Gardiner High School Hedwig married Rueben.Adeline attended business college in Great Falls for a year before she was hired on with the Texas Oil Company in Cascade, MT. She worked with them for about a year until returning to Gardiner. Her family owned a wheat farm outside of Scobey which Adeline continued to lease out and continues to own the farm to this day.Addie J., Adelines niece, went to live with Adeline when she was 13. Adeline was the mother figure that Addie so needed. In retirement Adeline was ready to go. She tagged along with Addie Wickham and her husband Phil and their children camping, traveling, going to sporting events and on all the holidays. She made the rounds to football and basketball games all over the state. She was the quintessential Gardiner Bruins fan. She enjoyed and was proud to give of her time for the community. She participated in the Star Reading program for the elementary students until her macular degeneration forced her to stop. One of her greats joys was participating with the Coffee Clash group. She cherished her community friends and church community.
