Agnes H. Huiett

Agnes (Hafers) Huiett, age 82, of Livingston, died January, 27, 2013 at her home with her children by her side. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. A Celebration of Agnes Life, held Saturday, February 2, 1 p.m., at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Livingston with Reverend Father David Gunderson officiating. Memorials are preferred. Agnes (Hafers) Huiett was born on February 22, 1930 in Aiken, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Ernest R. and Pauline (Hughes) Hafers. Agnes was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in her Episcopal faith as a youth. She received her grade school education in Aiken, SC; she then attended middle school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Long Island, NY and was a graduate of the Aiken High School Class of 1948. Agnes furthered her education at a Business College in Billings. On December 22, 1947, Agnes was united in marriage to Luther Ray Huiett, in Lexington Township, North Carolina. This marriage was blessed with 2 children, Paula and Tony. Agnes and Ray moved to Livingston in 1950 where they made their permanent home. Agnes and Ray shared 60 years of marriage. Agnes worked with Chester Marion as a Relator for many years. She retired in the early 1980's. Agnes also worked as a Dental Hygienist and in retail for three different pharmacists. Agnes was a faithful member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the American Heart and Lung Association, bowling league and member of A.P. Chapter of P.E.O. in Livingston. She also counseled women with breast cancer as she had recovered from herself. Agnes will be remembered as a lady of great fortitude. Her spirit of strength, determination, resilience and friendliness was revered and respected by all throughout her career and lifetime. Agnes enjoyed cooking and giving back to her community through volunteering. You could find Agnes on the golf course with a huge smile even when she had to use a cane. When she could no longer walk she would enjoy riding along in the cart. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Agnes passed away on January 27, 2013, at her home, at the age of 82 years. Blessed be her memory. Agnes is survived by her: Daughter, Paula Murphy and her husband Gary of Livingston; Son, Tony Huiett and his wife Debra of Livingston; Grandchildren, Bridget King and her husband Monte of Detroit Lakes, MN, Brendan Murphy and his wife Brianna of Livingston; Great-grandchildren, Mitchell Gadberry, Cevannah and Ashlyn King and Adelaide Murphy. Nephews, Bill and Tom Warden and Dunc Holliday Jr.; Nieces, Judith Weathers and Cynthia Burchalter; Brothers-in-law, Dunc Holliday Sr., Fred Huiett and Tom Huiett all of South Carolina. Many other relatives and friends. Agnes is preceded in death by her Parents, Ernest and Pauline Hafers; Husband L. Ray Huiett; Brother, Ernest Hafers; Sisters, Orene Warden and Evelyn Holliday. The family invites everyone to fellowship at the church immediately following the service.
