Alma L. (Jappe) Foss, better known as “Dicky”, was born August 17, 1922, along with her twin sister Alva, better known as “Happy”, on a farm outside of Big Sandy, MT. The twins were the youngest of seven who are now all deceased: Dora (Vernon) Markham, Henry (Myrtle) Jappe, Gus Jappe, Fritz (Dorthea) Jappe, Viola (Harold) Remington, and Alva.
Alma was married to John Foss for over 60 years. They had no children of their own, but loved many nieces and nephews and cousins. They lived a life of travel and adventure. Many stories of Alaska, fishing and hunting. They moved and lived in many places, especially the Flathead Valley in Montana and Eureka, MT. After Johns passing in 2006, Alma moved to Livingston to be with her twin sister. After Happy’s passing, Alma moved in above the Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed many friends, playing pinochle, dances, dinners and social events. She lived at the Caslen Assisted Living Center her remaining two years.
She is survived by so many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that are too many to name. You know who you are. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be at a later date in Big Sandy, MT. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
