Alva L. Carlson, Better known as "Happy", 92 of Livingston, Montana passed away early Friday, June 26th, 2015 at the Frontier Assisted Living Center in Livingston. Alva was born on August 17, 1922 in Big Sandy, Montana to Fritz and Auguste (Jarmuth) Jappe. She graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1941. Following her graduation she married Luther A. Eller in 1943; they settled in Havre, MT where they owned and operated the White Star Cleaners. They were blessed with four children, Pat Eller and his wife, Cindy of Meridian, ID, Lorraine (Eller) Lende and her husband Roy of Livingston, Jim Eller and his wife Tami of Billings and Joanne (Eller) Barthuly and her husband Jay of Livingston. In the fall of 1968 Alva moved to Kalispell, MT for a number of years to be near her twin sister Alma Foss better known as "Dickie". There she married Arthur Carlson in 1970. After his passing in 1979 she moved to Livingston to be near her daughters. Alva volunteered and worked at the Park County Senior Center for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, the dances, music, the parties with friends held at the senior center. When her twin, Dickies husband passed she moved to Livingston as well to be near her sister. They have enjoyed that last nine years together as sisters and the best of friends. You could often find them around town dressed alike and enjoying good times. Alva is survived by her four children and spouses. 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Twin sister, Alma "Dickie" Foss of Livingston. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Auguste Jappe, 3 brothers, Fritz, Henry and Gus Jappe. 2 sisters, Viola (Jappe) Remmington and Dora (Jappe) Markham. A memorial will be held at a later date. She will be dearly missed.
