Andalusia 'Anda' Reed died suddenly Saturday April 2, 2016 at Pine Creek Falls, Montana. While hiking with her partners, Anda attempted to cross the breach at the top of the falls, lost her footing, slipped into the water and was swept into the heart of the falls. She died instantly. She was 37 years of age. Born on March 1, 1979 in the Wind River Valley of Wyoming, Anda was often most at peace in the arms of nature. Her early childhood was spent in Dubois, WY at the southern end of the Absaroka Range where she lived with her parents and three brothers. At age 10 she and her family moved to Union, OR and she remained in the LaGrande area until returning to northwest WY around the turn of the century. Although raised as a Jehovah's Witness, Anda broke with that denomination as an adult in pursuit of greater freedom and spiritual truth. Her choice to leave the church was a defining moment in her life that led both to fuller development and growth and a prolonged and painful period of estrangement with her parents and brothers. She settled last year in Livingston, MT at the northern end of the Absaroka Range. Livingston is a place where Anda found her true heart, and was finally home. Anda was a gifted writer and musician. She played the guitar and piano with a fierce and poignant passion, often performing in public and for special events. Though she had no children of her own, Anda was a playful, nurturing, loving and beloved 'Nana' to many. Throughout her life she learned, developed and shared many skills and vocations including: design, building, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking. Her inquisitive nature lead her native talent in many directions and she reveled in the exchange of these pursuits. Anda is survived by life partners Amber and Gabe Williams; Aunts, Traci (Jamie) Isaly, Vicki Blakeman, cousins and many friends of Livingston; Aunt Jacki Blakeman, cousins and many friends of Wyoming; Uncle Matt (Tracy) Blakeman cousins and many Reed Aunts, Uncles & cousins and friends from Oregon; Grandmothers Twila Blakeman, Dubois, WY and Evalee Reed, LaGrande, OR, as representatives of her parents Rick and Halli Reed and her brothers. There will be a celebration of Andas life at 6 pm Friday, April 8th 2016 at 207 South M Street. All who knew and cared for her are warmly invited to attend. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
