Arthur Bud Bohleen

June 5, 1921 — May 26, 2016

Arthur B. "Bud" Bohleen, 94, of the Shields Valley, Montana, joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Thursday, May 26th, 2016. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 31st at the Holbrook United Methodist Church. Graveside committal and burial will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery with Veterans Honors. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Holbrook Reception Hall hosted by Living Hope Church. Bud was born on June 5th, 1921, in Woonsocket, South Dakota the son of Arthur Benjamin Sr. and Lulu (Carey) Bohleen. At age five the family moved to Forest Grove and later relocated to Clyde Park in the Shields Valley. He grew up ranching and did so all of his life. On September 24, 1941, Bud was united in marriage to Lorraine Adams, in Livingston, Montana. This marriage was blessed with a daughter, Lois and a son, Ron. Bud and Lorraine had shared 74 years of marriage. Bud entered active military service in the United States Army in 1944, and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1947. Bud and Lorraine lived their lives working the Koffee Kup Ranch on the Adair Creek for seventy years. Bud also designed and built Bohleen Horse Trailers for many years. He and Lorraine restored T-Birds and Old International "IH" Tractors having completed an entire series of 13. Bud was in love with ditch water and was known in the Shields Valley as the only irrigator who could make water run up hill. Bud was a man of God having a lifelong relationship with his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member of Living Hope Church. He was a 4-H leader, served on the Grannis School Board and Rodeod in the 1940s and 1950s. He was one of the founders in 1954 of the Junior 4-H/FFA Rodeo still going on at the Park County Fair. Bud was a man of hard work, morals, expertise and knowledge. Bud, you will be missed, blessed be your memory. Bud is survived by his: loving wife of 74 years, Lorraine Bohleen, Daughter, Lois Olmstead of the Shields Valley, Son, Ron Bohleen and his wife, Sherri of Big Piney, WY. Five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. As well as nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Bud is preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Lulu, siblings, Roger, Sonny, Andy, Bessie, Lillian and Helen, granddaughter Lorene Bohleen and son-in-law Robert Olmstead.
