Bertha L. (Munro) Dodge, 88, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at the Caslen Living Center in Livingston. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. A memorial funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 12th, at The Livingston Christian Center (1400 Mt Baldy Dr., Livingston). Fellowship luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date at Park View Memorial Gardens. Bertha was born on November 18th, 1926, in Chico, Montana the oldest daughter of Thomas William and Violet Harriet (Busby) Munro. She received her education attending various country schools including Six Mile School, Brisbin School and Dailey School at Big Creek. After the death of her mother in 1942, she finished raising her siblings. She graduated from Park County High School in 1947. Following graduation Bertha worked at the Sawyer Grocery Store. On June 6th, 1948, Bertha was united in marriage to Harry E. Dodge, in Livingston. This marriage was blessed with four sons and a daughter. Bertha and Harry resided in Livingston their entire marriage. Bertha had the toughest job of all, raising five spunky children. She was the foundation of the family making sure they were all dressed, fed and well-behaved. After the children were raised she started working at the Livingston Memorial Hospital as a house keeper. She and Harry shared 59 years of marriage. Bertha enjoyed gardening, having one of the largest and well-kept gardens in town. She loved to dance, square dance, schottische and polka. Bertha enjoyed embroidery and always had a hand embroidered dish towel ready for family weddings. She was a member of the Livingston Christian Center, Park County Pioneer Society, Springdale Historical Society and the Beaver Creek Secret Pals Club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Bertha is survived by her sons Elton ( Elaine), Edward ( Audrey), Dennis ( Barbara) all of Livingston, and Danny ( Julie) of Big Timber; her siblings Jack Munro, Thomas (Sharron) Munro, Faye Ammerman all of Livingston and Erma Allen of Buhl, ID. Grandchildren, Sunnie (Larry) Rhyner, Ginger (John) Galiger and, Dustin (Abby) Dodge, Denise Dodge, Kelly (Forrest) Craig, Thomas (Lacy) Dodge, Lance (Annie) Dodge, and Clinton (Delsie) Dodge. Great-Grandchildren, Tyler, Laryssa, Lacey, Dallas, Ashlee, Raychel, Lilly, Hayden, Garison, Thad, Denie, Noah, Gracie and Addison. Also numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Dixie Kelley, sisters, Donna Ragsdale and Lilla Johnson, and brother Dale Munro.
