Betty Jean Allen

Betty Jean Allen, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2022, in Livingston, MT. Betty was born in Richland, GA, to Mr. and Mrs. James C. and Sarah Emily Hughes on May 18, 1932. They then moved to Columbus, GA, where she spent the remainder of her formative years. Betty married Reggie Allen in Columbus, GA, in July 1949, and they were married for 55 years. She was a Graduate of Jordan High School in Columbus and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. She taught school in Miramar, FL, for 15 years, then Columbus, GA, for 4 years, and then worked as the Secretary/Treasurer for her family's medical supply business in Columbus, GA, for over 38 years. She was very interested in genealogy, reading, and attending church. Betty especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty lived in Hialeah, FL, for many years, before moving back to Columbus, GA, in the early 70's, where she spent the next 45 years, before moving to SW Montana in the fall of 2021. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Reggie Allen; her parents; a sister, Helen Harrison; and a brother, Richard Hughes. Betty Jean is survived by her son, Rick Allen, of Livingston, MT; granddaughters, Ashlea (Mitch) Luther, and Lindsay Allen, both of Livingston, MT; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Ervin and Laney Ervin of Waverly Hall, GA, and Luke Ervin of Livingston, MT; nieces, Jeanette Harrison, of Columbus, GA, and Debra Mott, of Rapid City, SD; and nephews, Bobby Harrison and Ray Allen, of Columbus, GA, Mark Allen of LaGrange, GA, and Sam Harrison, of Jacksonville, FL; as well as numerous cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family, as she was a wonderful Mother, Wife, Grandmother, and Friend to many. She has left us with many special loving memories we will always cherish and remember. Visitation and viewing will be available beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, MT. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston, MT, with Pastor Darryl Brunson of Expedition Church of Livingston officiating. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
