Carl August Anderson, 100 years of age, entered into eternal rest on September 16, 2023, at his home in Emigrant, Montana.
Carl was the Son of McCone County Pioneer (1909) the late Oscar A. and Beatrice (Spear) Anderson. Born April 30, 1923 on the homestead fifteen miles south of Poplar, Montana.
At 17 years of age, Carl volunteered with the CCC’s (Civilian Conservation Corps) during the depression and enlisted into the U.S. Army/Air Corp during World War II. He then went on to Berkley University in California and earned his Bacholor’s Degree in accounting in 1949. Following school Carl went to work for California Fruit Exchange as a CPA and later became VP/CEO until his retirement. He then developed with a partner/friend Tri-Tool of California. Carl traveled the world, loved adventures and spending time with family and friends. Having lived in Sacramento and Gualala, in 1991 Carl returned to his beloved Montana, settling in Paradise Valley where he loved to read, watch the wildlife and the beautiful Yellowstone River flow.
Carl is survived by two sisters, Ann Hansen and Mary Helen Bosch, both of Vancouver, WA. He is further survived by three nieces, three nephews, many great nieces and nephews and a few great greats.
Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Anderson, Robert Anderson and David Anderson; and nephews, David S. Anderson and Roger Hansen.
