Carol Jean (Williams) Parker

June 11, 1947 — November 5, 2017

Carol Jean Parker gracefully drifted away from us during the early morning hours of November 5th, 2017. She had fought a determined battle against numerous ailments yet remained strong and courageous to the very end. Her loving husband of 52 years remained by her side throughout their life together. Jean and Bob became high school sweethearts that formed the bond of marriage on January 6, 1965. Their first son, Scott Parker, was born shortly thereafter. The newlywed couple spent the following years of their life living in practically every basement apartment in Montana. Eventually they settled down in Colstrip, Montana in 1974. Soon afterwards their second son, Michael Parker, was born. The couple had upgraded to a trailer and were well on their way to the finer things in life. Jean took great care of their children while Bob worked diligently to bring home the bacon for her to cook. Before long they moved into a house near the tracks to raise their family. Jean was a talented and crafty lady that seized the opportunity to open her own fabric store. She also sharpened her culinary skills while operating a catering business with a friend. In 1984 Jean and Bob opened Colstrips best/only family restaurant. The popularity of the restaurant quickly spread to Hardin and the couple moved to the big city of Billings. Things didnt go quite as planned and they found themselves back in Colstrip a few short years later. The restaurant idea evolved to include two bars and the couple brought much cheer to the community. Eventually they escaped (or were run out of town) and in 1995 they returned to their roots in Livingston. Jean maintained her reputation as a hard worker and was employed at several local businesses including: The Pop Stand, Albertsons, County Market, and The Pickle Barrel. She even highlighted her career with her very own dog grooming business. Although she was indeed a busy person, she always made time for her friends and family. The bond between her and her sisters remains unbreakable and the friendships she maintained throughout her life were regarded as the family in which she had the pleasure to chose. Carol Jean Parker was born to this world on June 11, 1947. After seventy short years she managed to sneak out the back door on November 5th 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and George Williams. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob; son, Scott and wife, Valerie of Great Falls, MT, their children, Christopher "C J" Parker, Kailey Hofstee and husband, Lucas, Natalie Weig and husband, Zach, great-grandson, Blake Weig; son, Michael and wife Jayme of Two Rivers, AK, their children, Macyn and Ruth Parker; siblings, Dick Williams, Coral Wilson, Diane Williams, and Kris Patterson. As well as her dearest friends, Gay Watts, Bonnie Fredrickson, Karen Palin, Peggy Anderson, and Randy Adams. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November, 11th, at The Livingston Christian Center, 14oo Mount Baldy Drive, Livingston. Memorials may be made to the Stafford Animal Shelter: 3 Business Park Rd. Livingston, MT 59047.
