Carol Marie Rigwood

Caroline Marie Rigwood, 84, of Livingston, MT, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Livingston Health and Rehab.

Caroline was born June 3, 1937, in Centralia, WA, to parents Leslie and Elizabeth. Always small in stature and tremendously large at heart, Carol left school early to help support her four siblings that have preceded her in death. She found work at The Poor Farm, here in Livingston and worked there for several years before starting at Big Bob’s Family Restaurant. From there, she started her many decades at Martins Cafe, where she made all the homemade pies, rolls and salads for the Smorgasbord.

Carol never married, but that never stood in her way of being a 2nd mother to her younger cousins, Stephen and Darrel Shulins (and in turn, their children). Carol found great joy in giving to others. She made numerous lap/baby blankets, scarves, crocheted dolls, hand towels and an immeasurable amount of baked goods to give away. She refurbished stuffed toys to give to the fire department. She could generally be found crocheting or working in her flower beds. She was very strong in her faith and enjoyed attending Living Hope Church.

Carol’s family would like to express their thanks to Jon Swenumson for the loving care and friendship he shared with Carol these past couple years.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned per Carol’s wishes. Memorials may be directed to Living Hope Church, 226 S. 3rd Street, Livingston, or Stafford Animal Shelter, 3 Boulder Business Park Road, Livingston, MT, 59047. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
