Carolyn Kay (Weamer) Shellenberg, 83, of Vancouver, Washington, formerly Livingston, Montana passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 in Washington.A celebration of Carolyns life will be held Monday, July 6, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at Franzen Davis Funeral Home (118 N. 3rd Street), dessert reception will follow, and burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Big Timber. Masks are welcome, not required.Carolyn was born to Joseph and Leah Weamer on March 20, 1937, in Big Timber, MT. She was the third oldest of four children, and being the only girl, she played the peacemaker of the family. She and John Shellenberg married and lived in Livingston for many years. Carol enjoyed a professional career, as well as family life. She moved to Indiana to be closer to her oldest daughter, Jan. Carol then spent her final years in Washington with her youngest daughter, Tara.Carolyn will be most remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a love of wine, family dinners, happy hours, and Elvis. She enjoyed shopping, writing books, going to the movies, and having endless tea parties and treasure hunts with her grandchildren.Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leah Weamer; brothers, Joseph, Roy, and James Weamer; husband, John Shellenberg, and beloved dog Annie. She is survived by her two daughters, Jan McCarthy (Kevin McCarthy) and Tara Bennett (Pat Bennett); five grandchildren, Jace Bennett, Jesse Bennett, Leah Gilbert (Mac Turgiaman), Kevin McCarthy II, and Alissa Bennett. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Malia Bennett, Jonas Bennett, and Aylen Turgiaman.The family gives special thanks to the loving caregivers at Discovery Nursing and Rehabilitation in Vancouver, WA for their extraordinary, compassionate care of our loved one. Carols celebration of life will be in Livingston this summer, date to be determined at a later time.Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
