Cecil “Roonie” Heist Kahle Bekemans

July 2, 1925 — December 5, 2017

Cecil "Roonie" Heist Kahle Bekemans On Tuesday morning, December 5, 2017, Cecil "Roonie" Heist Kahle Bekemans, 92, passed away at Diamond K Lodge Assisted Living in Livingston, Montana. Cecil was born July 2, 1925, in Livingston to Alma (Beekman) and JW Heist. She was the youngest of three girls. Cecil attended grade school in Cinnebar Basin and graduated from Park County High School in 1943. On April 1, 1945, Cecil married R.R. Kahle, Jr. They were married 30 years and raised their three children, Sandra, Terri and Bobby in Livingston. On July 23, 1976, Cecil married Keith Bekemans. They had many wonderful adventures together. They built a cabin from the ground up on Mill Creek and hosted many holidays and gatherings of family and friends. They owned the Ranger Bar in Gardiner for three years while holding down jobs with Yellowstone National Park. Later, they bought a semi-truck for the adventure of traveling across the country, returning to YNP to live and work full time in Mammoth. They spent two winters in Canyon, snowmobiling back and forth to Mammoth and heading to the cabin for the weekends. Cecil always liked to change residences, once moving when Keith was at work. The note on the door said,"We live next door, come on over!" They lived in 20 different homes in 38 years of marriage. Cecil worked for Yellowstone National Park for 16 years. Eleven of those years she was the Payroll Administer for Yellowstone National Park. She loved her job and enjoyed the many people she worked with. Cecil was an avid golfer and her cart with the yellow fringe on top was her well-known form of transportation on the golf course. She golfed a hole-in-one more than once and was a member of the Livingston Golf and Country Club for 40 years. She bowled on two Livingston leagues for 50 years. In October of 2010, at the age of 85, she bowled a 515 series. She played on two bridge clubs with her friends in Livingston for many years. Grandma Roonie will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Cecil is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Jim) Denesen, Livingston; son-in-law, Rodney Clark, Greenleaf, Idaho; grandchildren: Brett (Shanna) Evje, Bozeman; Scott (Melissa) Evje, Livingston; Jackie (John) Carter, Caldwell, Idaho; Annie (Scott) Salisbury, Laura (Barry) Griffin, Middleton, Idaho and Lydia (Pete) Fairbrother, England. She is also survived by nieces, Carole (Vern) Erickson, Julie Stephens, Bette Gail (Jeff) Wulf, Judy Oyler, nephews, Truitt (Judy) Oyler, and Allen (Linda) Stephens. "Roonie" is also survived by Keiths son, Kurt (Paula) Bekemans and his daughters, Jessica (Steve) Boyles, "little" Steve, and Brenna. Cecil was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, her son, Bobby Kahle, her daughter, Terri Kahle-Clark, her sisters and their husbands, Olive (Clyde) Stephens and Bette (Enos) Oyler, and nephews, Walter Oyler and Bill Oyler. A very heartfelt thanks to Diamond K Lodge Assisted Living.
