Chris (Reimer) Davis

May 21, 1953 — August 28, 2014

Christiana Reimer "Chris" Davis, 61, of Livingston, Montana, passed away peacefully and very suddenly on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at her home. Family will receive condolences and a viewing will be held at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home (118 N 3rd Street; Livingston) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 2nd. A Celebration of Chriss LIFE and sharing of remembrances will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, at the Sacajawea Park Gazebo in Livingston. A gathering will begin at 7:30P.M.; A Remembrance Video and Time of sharing will begin at 8:30 P.M. Chris was born on May 21, 1953 in Wadsworth, Medina County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William Sr. and Joann (Rice) Reimer. Chris spent her childhood in the Akron, Ohio area. She received her college education attending Mount Union College in Canton, OH where she obtained her bachelor's degree in biology. She became an avid football fan while attending Mount Union. Her Mount Union Purple Raiders were 11 time national champions, and she was proud of that. She, of course, was also a major Ohio State Buckeyes fan, living for the Ohio State vs. Michigan games around Thanksgiving where she could hold out the ultimate battle with her husband, Dave, a Michigan fan. In 1973, Chris moved to Montana where she attended MSU Northern in Havre where she earned her degree in nursing. She began her nursing career in White Sulpher Springs working at the rural hospital. She later moved to Great Falls, Montana where she worked in the oncology unit at Columbus Hospital, and found a passion in life, helping others in need. She was blessed with her first two children, Lindsay and Nathan, and met her husband, Dave and his daughter Jordan, while living in Great Falls. On February 8, 1992, Chris was united in marriage to Dave Davis at The Hitching Post in Couer d'Alene, Idaho. Later that year they moved to Livingston where Dave worked at Livingston Rebuild and Chris worked as a nurse at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation. They were later blessed with another child, Luke, who was born at their home in Livingston. A few years down the road, Chris became a stay-at-home mom, a job she lived for and greatly enjoyed. This 'occupation' allowed her to support her children in all activities, school-related and extracurricular. As the children became older, Chris chose to work at Paradise Impressions Hair Salon to fill some of her free time. The opportunity presented itself for her to purchase and manage the salon, a challenge Chris readily accepted. Following the salon, Chris returned to her passion in life as a nurse working with Livingston Healthcare's Homecare/Hospice department. Chris always said her true love in life was caring for and helping others. Chris was a talkative, outspoken, and opinionated woman. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, gardening, caring for her animals, copying recipes from food magazines, spending time with her family, particularly her two grandchildren Vann and Emily, and floating the river. She loved to greet folks with her big smile and open arms, whether she knew them or not. She made friends with almost everyone in Park County, and happily gave her heart to welcome and greet them. She was a loving and caring person, and a dedicated mother to her children. There were even times she stretched herself to make it to all four of her children's games. She was the anchor in her family and friends' lives, offering a helping hand, an embracing hug, advise, or a shoulder to cry on, come day or night. She had an optimism in life that only most can admire, but never achieve. Chris could wash away a person's worries in a heartbeat, making them feel as though they didn't have a concern in the world and that everything would work out as it should. This is only a glimpse in the short life Chris shared on this earth. She was taken suddenly, but will never be forgotten. We miss and always love her. Our peace is with her. Chris is survived by her: Loving husband of 22 years, Dave Davis of Livingston, MT Children, Lindsay Reimer McFarland and her husband, Matt, of Butte, MT; Jordan Davis of Livingston, MT; Nathan Davis of Missoula, MT; and Lukas Davis of Livingston, MT. Grandchildren, Vann Davis and Emily McFarland. Cousins and many other relatives and friends. Chris is preceded in death by her parents, William Sr. and Joann Reimer and her brother, William Reimer Jr. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
