Clifton Bryan

Clifton A. Bryan, age 87, passed away peacefully at home October 29, 2017. He was born in Big Timber, Montana to Lonnie and Mary Bryan, at twelve worked as a ranch hand, and graduated from Sweet Grass High School. He then helped the U.S. Geological Survey before volunteering for the U.S. Navy, serving honorably and with distinction in several assignments during the Korean War. In 1956, Clifton graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Montana. Clifton first worked for J.C. Penney as a salesman and manager, moving to Westminster, CO. In 1969 he moved his family to Loveland where he opened a mens clothing store called Loom and Leather. Later, he helped open another store in Fort Morgan and sold them both in 1979. He became a realtor/ investor, a passion throughout his life. Clifton felt lucky to have married the two loves of his life; Lois P. Teigen and Christine A. Huber. He married Lois on March 15, 1954. They had two boys; Lonnie (Susan) and Kip (Pam) Bryan, who have survived Lois and Clifton. Lois died December 3, 1988, and was missed by the family. On March 15, 1991, Clifton married Christine A. Huber. She loved and cared for him allowing him to pass away in their home with the assistance of Kip and Pam. May God recognize and reward them all. Clifton became a loving stepfather to Christines; daughter Diana Miga (Brian), son Larry Harpman and Mindy Pheiffer. He was known as "Grandpa" to Jesse, Jamie, Troy, and Angeline, and two great grandchildren Jakob and Thedrick. Clifton helped and assisted them, and, likewise, they cared for him. He was also a loving guardian of Amber Bailey. Butch, his dog, was his faithful companion. From 1982 to 1986, Clifton represented the Loveland area as its State Representative. He also served at the Lutheran Church on evangelism committees and councils. His faith and the stewardship his pastors gave him the strength. May the emptiness we feel now become joy tomorrow. Playing golf with friends who meant the world to Clifton kept him healthy and made him happy. Two grandsons, Joshua (JinXuan) Bryan and Peter (Sara) Bryan, and two great granddaughters, Emma and Bridget, who saw Clifton in October to celebrate Joshuas wedding, which was greatly anticipated, bringing Clifton smiles and laughter. Clifton is survived by four of his six siblings; Veda (Wayne) Viers of Kirkwood, MO, Kay (Leonard) Burg of Livingston, MT, Sandra (Lyle) of Philomath, OR and Sherrill (Bob) Cobean of Longmont, CO. Older brother, Bobby and younger sister, Nina (Lloyd) Booth have passed away before him.A graveside blessing will be held on Friday, October 5th, 2:00 P.M. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Big Timber.
