Dixie Lea Jimison

December 11, 1946 — April 11, 2023

Dixie Lea Jimison, age 76, of Livingston, Montana, passed away suddenly April 11, 2023, while caring for her horse on her property.

Dixie was born December 11, 1946, near Anderson, Missouri, the daughter of Milton and Betty (Hendricks) Kinslow.  She grew up in southwest Kansas, where she married and started a family.

She got the itch to move west, so in 1973 she and her daughter moved to Sheridan, Wyoming.  She worked at the local VA hospital until 1985.  That year, she married Wilbur (Bill) Jimison, originally of Glendive, and they moved to Livingston to be near his family and enjoy their retirement on 20 acres just outside town.

Dixie especially enjoyed her country life, crafts and learning new crafts, shopping, horses, and meeting friends for coffee at local restaurants.  She met many of those friends working at various places around Livingston, including Pamida, Shopko, and Cenex.  She also ran a business for a while providing horse-drawn buggy rides with her Belgians.  She loved her horses, and in fact, is survived by her 30-year-old quarter horse Jubilee.

Dixie is also survived by her daughter Cassi Williams and her husband Kemis Williams of Florida, granddaughter Rikki King and family of Tuscon, Arizona, grandson John Welter and family of Sierra Vista, Arizona, grandson Chris Welter and family of Sierra Vista, Arizona, several nieces and nephews, and five great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Jimison and brothers David Kinslow and Terry Kinslow.

A private celebration of life is to be held by family this summer.
