Don Arlington 'Donnie' Holland, 72, of Livingston, Montana passed away Wednesday, December 31st at Livingston HealthCare Hospital of natural causes. A memorial funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 10th 2015 at the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home (118 N 3rd St) in Livingston. Further celebration of Donnies life will follow at the Livingston Elks Lodge (130 S 2nd St) following the memorial service. Memorials are preferred to the Stafford Animal Shelter in Livingston (staffordanimalshelter.org). Don was born on May, 30th 1942 in Spokane, WA to Arlington and Mildred (Johnson) Holland. He was the 7th out of 9 children. He attended Park County High School in Livingston and graduated with the class of 1960. He joined the Air Force on April 1st, 1964 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge on July 28th, 1966. He then went on to pursue a degree in accounting from Montana State University in Bozeman, graduating in 1967. He was previously married to Marie OShaughnessy, and they had three children, Deirdre, Jeremy, and Patricia. They resided in Arizona, California, Montana, and Colorado during their 27 year marriage. He spent the last 17 years of his life in Livingston with his best friend and common-law-wife, June Little. Throughout his career, Don was an entrepreneur and small business owner, operating the Husky Truck Stop and the Mini Mart gas station and caf, both in Livingston. Later in his life, he worked as an accountant and was also appointed Park County Assessor. He retired in 2007 but continued working part time at Guardian Title. He was also member of the Elks Lodge, the American Legion and Ducks Unlimited. Donnie was a social guy who loved to have fun. He had a sharp sense of humor and loved to make others laugh, often while enjoying a beer with his friends. He loved being outdoors and was an avid golfer, fly fisherman and gardener. He enjoyed card games, puzzles, politics and Fox News. He was a gun collector who enjoyed camping and loved his dogs. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a huge advocate for the Livingston community. He loved Livingston, it was where he truly wanted to be. Our peace be with you. Don is survived by his common-law-wife, June Little, of Livingston, his children, Deirdre, Jeremy (Allison), and Patricia (Scott), step-son Scott (Karin) as well as 5 granddaughters. He is also survived by siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlington and Mildred Holland, one brother and three sisters. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory
