Donald Voges

August 21, 1934 — October 4, 2022

Livingston

Donald Arthur Voges smiled when gifting vegetables to family and friends or while fishing and hunting.  He was born to Arthur and Montana Voges in Big Timber, Montana on August 21, 1934, and gained his wings on October 4, 2022.

Don joined the Army stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Korean War.  Alaska quickly won his heart.  Shortly after his return to Montana, Don met the love of his life, Lois Younkers.  They were wed for 64 years adding two sons, Arthur, and Charles “Bill” to their family.

Don was extremely talented holding many careers including teacher, rancher, railroader, and union ironworker.  There seemed to be nothing he couldn't make out of iron. If you knew Don, you loved him, and he loved you.  Don never met a stranger he didn't like.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and son, Arthur.  Don is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Bill (Ronna); grandchildren, Chloe (Kyle), Tanner, Keegan and Cullen; great-grandchildren, Steele, Knox, Maci, and Banks.

Don will be interred at the Mountain View Cemetery Big Timber on Saturday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. with Veteran’s Honors; a gathering to follow at the American Legion in Big Timber.

Memorials may be sent to Livingston Healthcare Hospice to thank them for the compassion they showed our husband, dad, and grandpa.

Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
