Doris was born July 10 1918 in Livingston, Mt. She was the second daughter of 3 born to Homer and Clarabell Mather. In her youth she preferred spending time on the family ranch in Wilsall, outdoors working with her dad and letting her sisters help out in doors with chores. She spent 8 years attending school at the Horse Creek one room school house, getting there and back either by buggy or horse back. High school was attended at Park County High School, living in town each school year. She graduated in 1936 and returned to Wilsall working on her Uncle Dallas's ranch, and that is where she met her future husband, Glenn Christie. Doris joined the Wilsall O.E.S. Park Chapter 105 in 1937 and was a member of that Chapter until it closed and a Life member of the Order of Eastern Star until her death. Glenn and Doris married in 1940. Born from the marriage were 3 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Alice and Billie Louise, husband Glenn and first born, Allen ( Heather ). Doris is survived by son Leonard (Leslie) of Costa Mesa, Ca. and daughter Erline Clark (David) of Helena. 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters-in-law Eunice Behm and Beulah Christie and brother-in-law Robert 'Bob' Christie of Billings and many nieces and nephews. Doris enjoyed a very large extended family and many many friends. She was always ready to put a pot of coffee on and made sure nobody left her house hungry. She loved to camp, play cards, and just help others. Her family was blessed and is thankful to have had her in their lives for so many years. She still had her wit and dry sense of humor, as well as being 'sharp as a tack' up until the end.
