Doris Mason (Gillis) Zolnoski

August 10, 1919 — September 25, 2014

Doris Gillis Mason Zolnoski, 95, of Cheyenne WY passed away on September 25, 2014. She was born in Livingston, MT., on August 10, 1919, to David Emmett Gillis and Constance Evje Gillis. She graduated from Park County High School and was a bookkeeper. On November 11, 1939, she married Thomas F. Mason also of Livingston. Thomas was a registered pharmacist, and they moved to Cheyenne where Tom worked for A. E. Roedel. They bought Hayes Drug and started Mason's Pharmacy in 1948 where Doris continued her bookkeeping. Thomas F. died August 1, 1979. Doris married June 16, 1984 Jack C. Zolnoski. They enjoyed 15 years of happy marriage. Jack died August 14, 1999. Doris was a member of Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron of Oak Leaf Chapter #6, a member of Mizpah Chapter #36 and was in Daughters of the Nile Patrol. She was past president of X-JWC and a charter member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Christian Science Church, the Old West Museum, the Botanic Gardens, and a 60 Year member of the American Numismatic Association. She loved attending the Symphony, Little Theatre, All-City Children's Choir, and Chamber Singers. Doris is survived by her four children, Brian Mason, Marion Mason Kern (Chuck), Anita Mason Troudt, and Thomas Mason (Starla).and her three stepchildren; Lynn Zolnoski (Luanne), Lil Zolnoski Walk Kirk (Ben), ruthi Zolnoski Runkle (Ray). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Constance and Emmett Gillis and son-in-law Gary Troudt. Services will be held on Tuesday 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home in Cheyenne, WY. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston, MT. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Botanic Gardens.
