Dorothy I. (Megee) Castern

February 1, 1925 — February 5, 2018

Dorothy Isabella (Megee) Castern, 93, of Livingston passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Livingston HealthCare Hospital from heart failure. Dorothy was born in Bozeman, Montana on February 1, 1925. She was first of four children born to Elmer and Ellen Isabelle (Stratton) Megee. Dorothy loved rock hunting and made beautiful jewelry from the treasures she would find. She was also very fond of fishing and spent many happy times at the lakes and streams in the area. She also crocheted and her beautiful works were sought after by many. In her younger days she worked as a cook on several ranches in the White Sulphur Springs area. She also worked as a cook at the Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone National Park. Dorothy also ran a caf in Wilsall for a time. She lived at the Sherwood Apartments in Livingston for more than 27 years, she had made many dear friends there. She was currently residing at the Diamond K Lodge at the time of her death. Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Gloria J. Pollock of Livingston, Sandra L. Rom of Livingston and Ellen L. "Sue" Cook of Noel, MO as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernie Caster and three siblings, Elmer Megee, Walter Megee and Marion (Megee) Selvage. She will be dearly missed. A private family memorial is planned for the summer. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
