Edward Foster Skillman

Edward Foster "Ed" Skillman, 80, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Saturday, December 17th, 2016 following a sudden stroke. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, 1-5 P.M. at the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, 118 North 3rd St. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 22nd, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2 Church Drive, Livingston. Graveside committal and burial will be at Bruffey Cemetery at Mission Creek. Veterans Honors will be provided by the Park Post #23 American Legion. A reception will follow the graveside service at the church. Ed was born on November 16th , 1936, in Livingston. He was the son of Shirley C. and Florence H. (Rahn) Skillman. He received his education in Livingston and was a graduate of the Park County High School Class of 1955. Ed entered active military service in the United States National Guard, and served his country stateside. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1963. Ed was united in marriage to Neada Hanks, on July 10th, 1960, at the Pine Creek United Methodist Church. This marriage was blessed with five children, Betty, Linda, Clarence, Sam and Roberta. He and Neada have shared 56 years of marriage. He was blessed enough to have bought his ranch on Castle Mountain Road and had shared his life there with Neada. He was a rancher, an outfitter and was an all-around master of the outdoors. He loved to hunt, hike, camp and was never scared of hard work. He cherished it when everyone would be home and the house was full of his children and grandchildren. Ed is survived by his: wife Neada. Children, Betty Long (Dennis) of Park City, MT; Linda Bird (Russell) of Great Falls, MT; Clarence Skillman of Harrison, MT; Sam Skillman of Livingston, MT; Roberta Asper (Jeff) of Alexander, LA; as well as an honorary son, Troy Gardiner (Jessica) of Miles City, MT. Grandchildren, Daniel (Coleen), Rachel, Jayme (Cody), Jennifer (Hugh), Megan, Brandon, Kayla and Ethan. Great-grandchildren, Danielle, Clayotn, Amelia, Destiny, Austin, Jayanna, Ryder, Aurora and Violet. Brother, Bob Skillman (Karol) of Livingston, MT. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Florence Skillman, sister, Shirley Ann Gardiner and brother, Albert Skillman. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
