Edwin H. Doig, 83 of Livingston, Montana passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday evening, May 5, 2015. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory and at his request no services will be held. Memorials are preferred to the Livingston Healthcare Hospice organization. Ed was born on May 22,1931 to Edwin C. and Christine (Harder) Doig. He spent much of his youth in Gardiner and graduated as valedictorian of Park County High School in Livingston in 1949. He earned his BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Montana School of Pharmacy in 1953 at which time he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the US Army. He married Kay Cotter of Townsend in 1953 prior to moving to his station in Wurzburg, Germany. Ed was a longtime owner of Livingston Drug and served his profession as president of the Montana State Pharmaceutical Association and as a member of the Legislative Steering Committee of the National Association of Retail Druggists He served on the Board of Directors of Empire Bank in Livingston for 23 years and was active in the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, and American Legion. His hobbies included couples bridge, golf and fishing. Ed is survived by his daughter Pam in Denver and preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kay. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
