Eleanor A. Jacobs, 93, of Livingston, Montana passed away on Monday, June 8th, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 11:00 A.M., St. Marys Catholic Church with Father Navil Rodrigues as Celebrant. Graveside committal and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Fellowship luncheon will follow the service at the St. Marys Catholic School Gymnasium. Vigil and Rosary service will be held on Friday, June 12th, at St. Marys Catholic Church at 7:00 P.M. as well as a viewing from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. If so desired memorials may be made to Counterpoint Inc.: 116 E Lewis St, or St. Marys Scholarship Foundation: 511 S F Street; both in Livingston, MT 59047 Eleanor was born in Billings Mt to Walter J and Irene Burke Peterson October 4, 1921. She spent her early childhood in Hedgesville Mt. Her family moved to Livingston in February 1928 when she was in first grade. After attending local schools, she graduated from Montana State College (now University) Bozeman where she was member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was a life member of MSU Alumni Association. Eleanor taught Home Economics in Miles City and Portland Oregon before returning to Livingston to work several years for Drs Walker and Harris at the Livingston Clinic On June 16, 1948 she and Gilbert P. Jacobs a conductor on the Northern Pacific Railway were married and spent the rest of their lives together in Livingston. Gil preceded her in death on January 27, 1992. They were blessed with two daughters Catherine and Virginia Jacobs; Virginia lived at home with Eleanor, until November 1996 when she moved into a Livingston Group Home. Eleanor was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and over the years had belonged to several church groups, bridge clubs, AAUW; Park County Association of Retarded Children Eleanor had a long association with and was a board member of Counterpoint Inc. - a program for developmentally disables adults. Eleanor is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Catherine Weston and her husband Scott, of Fresno, CA and Virginia Jacobs of Livingston. She is also survived by a granddaughter Gretchen Heisdorf her husband Jim, their children, great-grandsons, Adam and Ethan Heisdorf. A grandson, Matthew Weston his wife Amanda; their children, great-granddaughters Annaloyce and Aubrey Weston and, great-grandson Jonathan Eisner. Sister-in-law Lorraine Peterson of Missoula and several nieces. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Gil, and a brother, Water J. Peterson Jr. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Livingston.
