Faith Helen (Smith) Jones

Faith Helen Jones, 95, of Livingston, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation Center. A viewing will be held 3-6 P.M. Tuesday, March 25, at Franzen-Davis. The funeral service will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, March 26, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (S. 5th St. & W. Lewis St.) with Pastor Steven Paugh Leuzinger officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. A fellowship gathering will be held at Faiths son Terrys home at 723 N. 2nd Street following the graveside service. Memorials are preferred to: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 425 W. Lewis Street or Livingston HealthCare Hospice, 504 S. 13th Street. Faith Helen Smith was born on November 11, 1918 to Russell Hodge and Ethel May (Thomas) in Walkerville, Montana and adopted by William Smith and his wife Bertha (Wischer) of Muir, Montana. William Smith was a carpenter for the Northern Pacific Railroad. She received her education in Livingston and was a graduate of the Park High School class of 1936. In 1937 Faith was married to Roy Cameron Kinne and had a son, Terry Leroy Kinne. Faith later married Owen Hugh Jones on March 7, 1952, in Helena, Montana. Faith and Owen had two sons, Donald Llewelyn Jones and Gregory Owen Jones. Faith and Owen resided in Livingston, Montana and shared 37 years of marriage until Owens death in 1989. Faith and Owen bought the 9th Street Grocery in 1953, which was renamed Jones Grocery. Jones Grocery was a vital part of the Livingston community for 28 years until Faith and Owen retired in 1981. Faith loved to bowl and golf. She was a member of the Livingston Golf and Country Club and enjoyed singing with the choir at the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Faith especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Faith is survived by her: Sons, Terry Kinne and his wife, Judy of Livingston, MT, Donald Jones and his wife, Nancy of Pinehurst, NC, and Gregory Jones and his wife, Mary Anne of San Diego, CA. Grandchildren, Darren Kinne and his wife, Shellie, Tawnya Hawkins and her husband, Shane, Christopher Jones and his wife, Jennifer, Michael, Kelsey, Kelly, Melissa, Sarah, and Caitlin Jones. Great-grandchildren, Kaden Hawkins, Macie and Reece Kinne, and Owen Jones. Faith was preceded in death by her Parents, William and Bertha Smith, Husbands, Owen Jones in 1989 and Roy Kinne in 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
