Florence (Wallace) Hunt

Florence W. (Wallace) Hunt, age 86, of Livingston, Montana passed away at her home, peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019.A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., on Thursday, March 28, at the Holbrook United Methodist Church, 424 West Lewis St., Livingston. A reception will follow the service at the Holbrook Hall.Florence was born in Livingston, Montana on February 4th, 1933 to Joseph and Ruth (Davis) Wallace. She was raised at her grandmothers boarding house. She attended schools in Livingston and was a graduate of Park County High, the class of 1951.After graduation Florence wasted no time beginning her career. She went to work as an office assistant for P.M.A., eventually moving to bookkeeping. She later held positions with the Peterson Dewing Agency, the Park County Assessors office as a Deputy Assessor and the Clerk of Court office as a Deputy Clerk. Over the years, Florence worked for various other local businesses too; she was always respected for her meticulous work.She met the love of her life, Edward James "Jim" Hunt, when Jim delivered some lumber to Florences father. They became better acquainted through mutual friends, and on September 16, 1961, Florence and Jim were united in marriage.Florence continued her professional career until they were blessed with their first daughter, Nancy. Florence stopped work for a bit but was soon back at it. Later, the family was blessed with another daughter, Allison.Florence was fastidious in more ways then just her profession; she had the most beautiful hand writing, kept a perfect home, was a lovely cook, and was a perfectionist when it came to her sewing and quilting projects. She assisted Jim at the family business, Valley Lumber, which they operated for some 28 years.Florence was creative; she did tole painting, her quilting, she enjoyed Jims hobby for collecting and restoring classic cars almost as much as he did. They would travel to car shows and swap meets or just going out for a cruise around town. They both enjoyed that time together so much. Florences favorite car was a Ford Model T, which Jim had restored just for her.Her family will remember Friday as "pancake night." Florence loved to go out and have a pancake; not everyone had to have pancakes, but when the family walked in the door of the truck stop, a flapjack went on the griddle, no menu required.Florence was dedicated to her faith and active in her church, Holbrook United Methodist. She was a dedicated grandmother to Dani and later to Camille. She was full of love and so enjoyed making her family happy, her tender touch and beautiful smile will be missed so much.Florence is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; her daughter, Nancy Clark and her husband, Duane of Livingston, their daughter Dani, and Allisons daughter, Camille Keeley of Havre, MT; her brother, Jim Wallace also survives Florence. She is also remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and dear friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Wallace, her sister, Jolene Weamer, and her daughter, Allison Keeley who passed in 2016.Rest in peace Florence, you will always be in our hearts.Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
