Francis Ronald John

Francis Ronald John, 80, of Livingston, Montana crossed 'the Shadowed Waters' to be with his wife, and with our Lord, early Thursday morning, May 15, 2014 at Livingston HealthCare Hospital. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston. Graveside committal service with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19 at Fairview Cemetery in Hardin, Mont. Dave Bowden of the Livingston Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will dedicate the grave. Francis was born November 24, 1933, the son of Kenneth Faye and Madge Lucille (Roberts) John. He spent his early life on the family ranch at Sarpy Creek east of Hardin, Mont., and attended school in Hardin. After working in the oil fields near Riverton, Wyo. for several years, Francis joined the United States Air Force in January of 1956. On December 14, 1958 he married Wilma Jean Patrick in Ogden, Utah. To this union three children were born. The family lived in many locations while he served in the military including Missouri; Japan; Colorado; Louisiana; New Mexico; Elmpt Germany; and at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. Following his retirement from the military he joined the Lovell Police Department in 1979 where he worked until 1992. At that time he returned to Montana and has been a resident of the Livingston area ever since. In Francis later years, he found great comfort in the LDS Church, and on Sept. 11, 2011 he was Sealed for Eternity with his wife, Wilma, at the LDS Temple in Billings. Survivors include a son, David A. John, Sr. of Livingston; two daughters, Denice Stokke of Lovell, Wyo., and Stacy L. (Curtis) Bjorndal of Billings, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Francis was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, a twin, Orin John, Orville John and Irvin John; and his wife, Wilma Jean John in 2008. The family requests that you say a prayer and tell your family and friends that you love them. Always let them know that tomorrow is never promised.
