G. William 'Bill' Hurley, 78, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Monday, May 9th, 2016 at Livingston Health and Rehabilitation. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 23rd, at Pine Creek Church. Burial will follow the service at the Shorthill Cemetery, a reception will follow the burial at the church. Bill was born on February 1, 1938 in Long Beach, California. He was the son of William Wallace Hurley and Dorothy E. Hurley (nee Kinnick). He returned to Park County as a young boy to live at the family ranch with his mother, Dorothy Kinnick Adams and his stepfather, Joseph Thomas Adams, He attended Pine Creek School and graduated from Park County High School Class of 1956. Bill joined the U.S. Navy, receiving a technical education and serving mainly in the Mediterranean Sea. After the Navy, he migrated to Southern California and enrolled in the University of California, where he married Judith Ann Poulsen. They were blessed with two children; Gavin William in 1971 and Geoff William in 1975. Following a long career in the aerospace business, moving from California, to Maryland, and then Virginia, Bill retired to Park County in 2003, living on the ranch where he grew up. For a time, he served as a project manager for Park County. Bill enjoyed reading military history, motorsports, and music. He is survived by his wife and partner of 45 years, Judith Ann Hurley; his sons, Gavin Hurley and his wife, Kristyn and Geoff and his wife, Kristine; grandchildren, Garrett, Sarah, Vincent, Evelyn and Gavin; his sisters, Janet Frankl and Judy Adams; nephews, Kevin Poulsen, Ryan Elvrom and Jason Franks; brother-in-law Norris Poulsen. Bill was pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Adams and a sister, Joanne Turner. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
