Gail Rossi Anderson of Fairview, Montana, formerly of Livingston, Montana died on June 8, 2021. She was 49 years old.
Gail was born on February 11, 1972, to John Rossi and Mary Ann Kampe-Reynolds along with her paternal twin sister, Natalie, eldest was sister Lisa, in Belleville, New Jersey. Gail and family moved to Big Timber, Montana. She had also lived in Illinois, and then settled in Fairview, Montana.
Gail graduated from Park High School in Livingston, Montana with the class of 1990. She tested high for college but only attended one semester. Gail was married to Fred Anderson of Tama, Iowa and later to Donny Arata, losing him in a fatal car accident, and allowing an open adoption for their daughter, Ashley. Late in life Gail would have another daughter Nevaeh who was adopted by Natalie and John Kern. She worked shortly for the City Flood Department as a secretary, an assistant librarian, and soon thereafter housekeeping, where she stayed. She then owned a cleaning business, often rehabbing apartments, as well as later in life caregiving. Gail enjoyed softball and weightlifting as a teen, Awana and Catholic Church services as a youth. Later in life she volunteered and found a thrill and a niche in secondhand stores launching a satisfaction in hunting and scouting and assembling valuables and collections, especially nick-knacks with a vintage cultural flare.
Gail was compassionate, generous, very humorous, and made friends everywhere she went. She delighted in making specialty items like horseradish, beef jerky, and stuffed mushrooms. Gail liked car rides, picnics, baseball, football, and racing. She was an avid dog lover and made her home a special place. She was fond of the small everyday things in life. Her heart was most happy with family and friends around her.
Gail passed away after years of complications. Gail would most likely be remembered for living today and being happy for it.
Gail is survived by her daughters: Ashley (Mathew) Lockhardt of Colorado, (grandchildren: Raelynn, Adaline, Ryleigh); Nevaeh Kern of Missoula, Montana; sisters: Natalie J. Kern of Texarkana, Texas; Lisa (Tom) Kitts of Livingston, Montana; niece and nephew: Jasmine Hall and Derek Pynn of Livingston, Montana; great niece: Addison Hall.
Gail is preceded in death by her husband: Donnie Arata of Wilsall, Montana and her significant other, Steve Taken of Illinois.
