Gary Ray Lanterman, 65, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Monday, August 22nd, 2016 at the Livingston HealthCare Hospital with his loving family by his side. Gary was born on June 7th, 1951, in Lincoln, Illinois. He was the son of Forrest and Phyllis Lanterman. He received his high school education in Sarasota, Florida and was a graduate of the Sarasota High School Class of 1969. Gary entered active military service in the United States Marine Corp on September 15th, 1970, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge on May 17th, 1974. He was employed at Sweetheart Bread as a salesman for over 30 years. Gary had an incredible sense of humor, was selfless and kind-hearted through and through. He enjoyed watching and playing many sports throughout his life, and was well known for being a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Gary loved working with wood and was a talented carpenter as evidenced by he and Judys home in which he took great pride and care to make comfortable and beautiful for his family. Gary loved his family and enjoyed being with them, always. He is survived by his wife Judy Lanterman, his son Christopher, daughter Miami (Chris) Brenna, step-children Bev (Curt) Azure and Jason (Chelsea) Broesder; as well as children from previous marriages: Sean, Kelly, Laurie and Cheryl. Gary has always loved children; especially his grandchildren Justin and Zirahuen Hernandez and Aven, Renna and Tate Broesder. He is also survived by his brother Bruce of Sarasota, Florida, brother Terry (Shirley) of Marion, Illinois and a sister Diana (Mike) Keafer of Springfield, Illinois; along with numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Gary also counted amongst his blessings many close friends whom he considered to be like family. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis and Forrest Lanterman. Blessed be his memory. Cremation has taken place and interment with veterans honors was held at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, per Garys wishes. A memorial service is forthcoming. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Livingston.
