Gary Dean "Weis" Weisgerber was born on February 25, 1952 in Portland Oregon and passed away at Livingston Healthcare on February 12, 2018 after a nine-year battle with environmentally caused cancer.Gary was a radio personality for his entire career working at all types of radio stations in California, Oregon and lastly here as the last true voice of KPRK. He loved working small community radio stations best as he valued being able to serve his community. Whether by doing Swap Shop, updating hourly on fires or floods, or helping nervous non-profit groups to talk about their organizations, Gary loved helping people. He was a prolific valuable commercial copy writer having won a Clio Award for Best Small Market Radio Commercial in 1988.Gary was a very talented musician, actor and playwright. He played six instruments and sang beautifully, having performed with several bands in Oregon. He acted in many, many plays in California, Oregon and here at the Blue Slipper and has written over a dozen plays. Several of the plays have been produced by various theater companies in Oregon and here in Livingston. His latest produced play "Blackjack, Blondes & Booze" (The History of the Livingston Underground) included 12 songs of which he wrote all the music & lyrics.Gary is survived by his wife, Peggy of Livingston, step-son, Chuck Brandt (Cody) of AZ, sons, Justin and Joseph (Cassandra) of Livingston and his beloved grandchildren, Scott, Maya, Sarah, Jaxin, Sophia and one due any day, his sister, GeriAnn Malone of Portland OR and his nephew Jeffrey (April) and great-nephew, Keagan of Japan. He will be greatly missed by numerous friends and extended family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Ann Weisgerber of Corvallis OR, and his father-in-law, Ed Peoples of Crescent City, CA.A celebration of life will be held 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 9th at Hidden Gem Event Center in the Clark's Crossing complex.Cards may be sent to the family at 104 South C Street, Livingston MT, 59047.
