George Andrew Sitton

October 20, 1934 — September 30, 2015

George Andrew Sitton, 80, of Livingston, Montana passed away on, September 30th, 2015 with his family at his side. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th, 10:00 A.M. at the Franzen-Davis Chapel in Livingston. The service will be followed by procession to the Rancher Cemetery northwest of Hysham. Memorials are preferred to: Livingston HospiceCare or Park High Booster Club. George was born on October 20, 1934 in Townsend, Montana. He was the son of William and Mae (Webb) Sitton. He received his education in Radersberg and Townsend and was a graduate of the Townsend High School Class of 1952. On August 4, 1956, George was united in marriage to Kay Haveman, at the Rancher Presbyterian Church in Myers, Montana. This marriage was blessed with three children; Roger, Kathy and Georgia. George and Kay first resided in Big Timber. They lived most of their lives in the Livingston area including: White Sulphur Springs, Big Timber and Livingston. They were blessed with fifty-nine years of marriage. George was employed with the Montana State Highway Department as a surveyor and engineer. He retired in 1986. Following his retirement from the Highway Department George spent nine years in Yellowstone National Park doing maintenance at Canyon Village. George was a past member of the Livingston Elks Lodge and was a proud member of the Livingston Roundup Association for many years. George enjoyed snowmobiling spending many miles and hours in the Crazy Mountains. He was an excellent woodworker, carpenter, electrician, plumber and was the family foreman. He had several remodeling jobs under his belt for family and friends. He had built his garage and shop; and helped build a shop for his son-in-law Kelly, and a cabin for John and Carole Yost. He also assisted his niece Jo and Bob Tubbs to build a house in Bozeman. Georgia has fond memories of helping her dad build their first color TV from a kit when she was a little girl. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He and Kay attended every Park High and Gardiner High sporting event they could get to earning a plaque for being "Great Fans" of Park High. George is survived by his: loving wife Kay. Son, Roger Sitton and his wife Cheryl of Farmington, NM. Daughter, Kathy Powell-Case and her husband John of Craig, CO. Daughter, Georgia McAdams and her husband Kelly of Gardiner, MT. George is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. George is preceded in death by his father and mother and one brother. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
