Gerald Dean Norskog, 90, of Livingston, Montana has passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Gerald Dean was born on November 14, 1930, in Spring Grove, Minnesota the son of Julius and Mina (Hermanson) Norskog. Gerald Dean entered the U.S. Armed Service serving his country during the Korean War from 1950-1953. He received an honorable discharge.On May 30, 1953, Gerald Dean was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Joyce Meigs at American Lutheran Church in Livingston. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage prior to Gwendolyn's passing in 2009. Gerald Dean was employed with the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads as a conductor and as a brakeman. He retired from his career with the railroad in 1986.He did his best to keep busy following retirement. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden and spending time on the golf course. Gerald Dean was proud to let anyone know about his TWO holes in one. He shot one here in Livingston and one at their winter home in Yuma, Arizona. Gerald Dean is survived by his children, Barbara Gayle (Steve) Brooks of Walkerville, MT, Gloria Jeanne (Jim) Hannon of Livingston, MT, and Gaye Geri (Todd) Miller of Kalispell, MT; four grandchildren, Linda Marie (Randy) Moseman of Anchorage, AK, Jaime Lynn (Ryan) Jones of Kalsipell, MT, Stephanie Joyce (Devlin) Scofield of Maryville, MO, and Dean Allen Sheldon of Kalispell, MT; three great-grandchildren, Gracie Lynn Jones, Wesley Robert Scofield, and Hudson James Scofield; brothers, Leigh (Thelma) Norskog and David (Becky) Amunrud. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gwendolyn; brothers, Merlin, O'dell, and Donald; sisters, Ann, Nancy, and Jacqueline.Gerald Dean's favorite saying was, "It's a great life if you don't weaken!"Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
