Goldie Perry

April 15, 1940 — March 25, 2025

Belgrade

Goldie Mae (Kamps) Perry was born on April 15, 1940. She was the first born to Frieda (Rahn) Kamps and George Kamps. Goldie’s siblings are Robert (Marjorie) Kamps, George (Gayle) Kamps, Linda (Robert) Alkire, and Raymond Kamps.

Goldie lived in Springdale, Montana, and attended primary school there. She went on to graduate from Park High in Livingston.

In 1960, she married Jess Perry, and together they enjoyed many fun years. Goldie and Jess were blessed with two children, Marsha (Erroll) Perry and Russell Perry.

Goldie worked for many years in the office of Brand-S Lumber.

Goldie took great pride in her work in the accounting field. Though she never held a CPA license, she believed her skills were every bit as proficient as those who did. At a time when passing the CPA exam required both a college degree and rigorous testing, Goldie set herself an audacious goal: to pass the exam on her first try. She worked hard to prepare for the test, which was only administered a few times a year. On the day of the exam, as she set out for Billings to take the test, fate intervened—her car broke down along the way. True to her determined nature, Goldie refused to let this setback stop her. With unwavering resolve, she hitchhiked to Billings, arriving in time to take and ultimately pass the exam.

Jess and Goldie loved to square dance and attended dances all over the state, making many close friends along the way.

Goldie enjoyed history and learning about the wonderful state of Montana. She was a proud member of the Park County Pioneers, serving as their treasurer for several years.

She also liked crafts, trying new recipes, and spending time with friends and family.

Special thanks to the caring staff of both the Belgrade Beehive and Home Instead.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond.

Goldie's spirit will keep lighting our hearts and weaving its magic into every story we share.
