Hardy J. Pugliano

August 13, 1921 — May 17, 2016

Harding "Hardy" Julius Pugliano, 94 of Livingston, Montana died peacefully at home after a short illness on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Hardy was much loved by all and will be dearly missed. Hardy was born in Livingston, Montana on August 13, 1921; he was the son of the late Vincentio "James" and Rosaria (Rucci) Pugliano of Livingston. Hardy was preceded in death by his brother, Carmen, an infant brother, Alfred, three sisters, Theresa Gonder, Viola Rivers, and Jeanette Pugliano Burris and his brother Francis (Frenchy) Pugliano. Hardy leaves one surviving brother, Carmen (James) of Phoenix, Arizona. Hardy was married to the late Roberta Clark of Livingston and has three surviving step-sons. Deland Anderson of Homer, Alaska, Dennis Anderson of Homer, Alaska and Dan Anderson of Houston, Texas. Hardy also had three grandsons, Dylan Anderson of Wellington, New Zealand, William and Jack Anderson both of Homer, Alaska, and one great-grandson, Benito Anderson, also of Wellington, New Zealand. Hardy lived all his life in Livingston. After graduating from Park County High school, he joined the United States Army. He was a member of the infantry and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his volunteer service with Merrills Marauders in the horrific China/Burma campaign during World War II. Hardys recovery from his combat wounds was long and difficult, but eventually he was able to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Livingston and was employed there until his retirement in 1981. Hardy was an enthusiastic sports fan. He enjoyed watching all of the Park High Ranger games and was their biggest supporter. He was also a true fan of the MSU Bobcats. Hardy was a 74 year member of the Livingston Elks and a member of the Park County Pioneer Society. Hardys family would like to thank the staff of Caslen Assisted Living Center here in Livingston for all their kindness. We would also like to thank all the residents for their friendship and support. No services will be held, in keeping with Hardys request. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
