Harlan Westling

January 8, 1964 — January 26, 2022

Harlan Craig Westling, 58, of Wilsall, Montana was called to heaven on January 26, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Harlan was born to Harley and Elma Westling in Livingston, Montana, on January 8, 1964. A lifelong resident of the Shields Valley, he graduated from Wilsall High School in 1982. After graduation, he chose to work the family ranch. Harlan later met and married the mother of his two sons, Zackery Craig, and Tanner John. Harlan's favorite job on the ranch was combining, surrounded by the colors of fall. As a young man, Harlan rode snowmobiles and motorcycles. In fact, he rode his street bike down the dirt road to his son Zack's house this last summer, just for a quick spin. Harlan was well known in the community for his laugh, a deep booming chuckle that could be recognized anywhere. Harlan was always quick to rib his best friend, Bruce Parks. Harlan's newfound joy was holding his first grandbaby, Lily Pepper, in his arms. Harlan is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his niece, Sheri Adams. He leaves behind his sons, Zackery (Somaerah), and Tanner Westling; granddaughter, Lily Westling; sisters, Susie (Jim) Payne, Kendra (Ty) Ferguson, and Carolyn (Andy) Devoto; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A funeral service in honor of Harlan will be held at 2:00 PM, February 5, 2022, at the Wilsall Community Church, 112 Liquin Hills Lane. Interment will follow at the Wilsall Cemetery, followed by a gathering back at the Wilsall Community Church for refreshments and to continue celebrating Harlan. Franzen-Davis Funeral home and crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
