Harriet J. (Reed) Lovely

October 11, 1927 — April 28, 2021

Heaven received a "lovely" angel in the early morning of April 28, 2021. Harriet J. Lovely age 93 passed peacefully with her family at her side. Funeral service in honor of Harriet will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Franzen Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. 3rd Street, Livingston, Montana. Graveside committal will follow in Mountain View Cemetery after a brief reception. Harriet was born on October 11, 1927 in Viroqua, Wisconsin the youngest of five children of Harley Trim Reed and Alice Palma (Nelson) Reed. In 1944 after the premature deaths of both of her parents she moved to Billings to finish high school at Billings Senior High. Upon graduation she entered St. Vincent Hospital nursing program, graduating in 1948 as a registered nurse. On June 18, 1949 she married the love of her life, Orvis C. Lovely. They raised their two daughters in Livingston, MT and spent 15 years traveling back and forth to Arizona. Harriet was an avid golfer and enjoyed many activities including sewing, painting, bridge, and numerous other card games. She loved to entertain in their home and was always the first to welcome visitors. Harriet's family and faith in God were especially important to her. She and Orvis had shared 62 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2011.She spent the last twelve years as a resident of Morningstar Senior Living in Billings where she was quick to make many wonderful friends, enjoying her activities, especially bingo. Survivors include: daughters, Lynda (Kip) Vandeventer of Gig Harbor, WA and Karla Forster of Billings; grandchildren, Jill (Kyle) Sturrock, Michael (Bridget) Vandeventer both of Gig Harbor, WA; Brittni (Devon) Kistler of Sheridan, WY, Ka tie (Joe) Mueller of Billings, MT and Sydney Forster of Laurel; great-grandchildren, Sage, Teague, Piper, Dutch, Deacon, Shepherd, Cooper, Bodie, Maysin; a sister, Kay Miller of Sarasota, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews other relative and friends.She was preceded in death by husband, Orvis; her parents, and three brothers.If so desired, memorials may be directed to Stillwater Hospice, Billings, MT.Franzen-David Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
