Helen Danielson passed away October 18, 2022. She was born in Minneapolis MN. to Stephen and Marianne (Hromatko) Field. As a young child she nearly died from pneumonia but was saved by a new life-saying drug called penicillin. Her family decided to move to a healthier location and landed in Palm Springs CA. Helen attended high school there and later met and married her first husband, Dan Richards with whom she had three children. They moved to various places around California, living in Tacoma, Washington before settling in Livingston. Helen worked as a bank teller for several years and made many treasured friends at the bank.
In 1983 she married the love of her life, Bill Danielson. After retirement, they went on many wonderful adventures exploring the country with their “get-a-way van” and later motor home. She always took great pride in all of Bill’s clockmaking and woodwork. Winters were spent in Parker, Arizona where they built a community of friendships.
Helen was dedicated to her three children as well as her little sister who was like a daughter to her. She always remembered birthdays for her entire family and enjoyed attending various events to watch her grandchildren’s activities. Helen was passionate about music and had an uncanny ability to remember lyrics and melodies to any song. She taught herself to play the piano, sang in choirs and inspired her children and grandchildren to also have a love of music.
Helen will be dearly missed by her sons; Ray (Karen) Richards, and Dan Richards; daughter, Linda Mayes; sister, Debby (Ray) Salado; bonus daughters, Danette (Randy) Mattson and Sandy (Larry) Girdler. Helen will also be missed by all the grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, and her brother, Stephen.
The family would like to thank the staff at Caslen Living Center and Hospice for their loving care through this difficult time. Nobody could ask for kinder people to help care for their loved one.
