Helen Anna Hammond, age 89, left our world on Monday, January 7, 2019, to be with her husband, LaRoy, and her kids in heaven. Helen spent her last years at her daughter Kathys home in Priest River, ID. Her family surrounded her with love and care as she took her last few breaths.Helen was born April 5, 1929 in Cumberland, WI to Carl and Gladys Beckman. On May 27, 1952, she married the love of her life, LaRoy Hammond in Eagle Bend, MN. Helen spent most of her life as a housewife and mother. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, baking molasses cookies, and her warm cup of coffee. Helen also loved rocking her grandchildren in her lap, even when they got to be in their 20s. Every moment spent with Helen was a moment full of the purest love. Her smile lit up the room and brought happiness to everyones heart. She had a way of letting you know everything was going to be alright with just a hug.She is survived by two sons, Larry Hammond and Jeff (Carlene) Hammond, four daughters, Debra (Joe) Bodle, Kathleen (Don) Womack, Teresa (Jim) Alvis, Cherry Hammond, and her many, many grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her four brothers, Hank Beckman, Ray Beckman, Calvin Beckman, Darrel Beckman, and two sisters, Mable Gulfvig and Esther Baron. Helen is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter and son, Linda and Jerry, her loving husband, LaRoy, her parents, and brothers, Melvin, Hermon, Gordon, and sisters, Margaret and Hester.Helen lived a long life full of hard times and good times. Although this obituary will never tell exactly how much she is loved, I hope, through the words in it, you can see how amazing she was. She will be missed greatly by many. We love you and we will see each other again. A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at the Franzen-Davis Chapel, 118 N 3rd St., Livingston; reception will follow the service at the funeral home.Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
