Helene LaVaughn Mesler, 88, of Livingston, Montana, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Livingston HealthCare Hospital. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. No formal service will be held. Memorials are preferred to: Livingston HealthCare Hospice, 320 Alpenglow Lane, Livingston, MT 59047. Helene was born on January 30th, 1927, in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Willa (McPherson) Whitfield. When Helene was young her family moved to Fairfield, Montana. She received her education in Fairfield and was a graduate of the Fairfield High School Class of 1944. Helene worked various jobs as a nurses aide, as troop support during the end of WWII and had spent some time in Seattle, WA. She met and married James Edward Willyerd, a Navy man, and were married in Montana before they moved to Ohio and then back to Montana. She went to San Francisco, CA in 1955, and spent most of her life there. She met and married Bill Mesler while there. In 1989 she came to live in Livingston, MT with her daughter Marianne to be closer to her son James Willyerd and daughter Sue Magnusson. Helene always worked hard to provide for her family. She was a waitress most of her days in California. She was loving and caring, always wanting the best for all of her children. Blessed be her memory. Helene is survived by her: Children, Son, James Willyerd and his wife, Penny of Livingston, MT, Daughter, Sue Magnusson and her husband, Gary of Crestview, FL. Son, Robert Walker of San Mateo, CA and Donald Walker and his wife, Dawn of Denver, CO. Daughter, Marianne Brenden and her husband, Tad of Billings, MT. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Helene is preceded in death by her Parents, Lloyd and Willa Whitfield, Sister, Donna McCann and Daughter-in-law Susan Walker. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
