James H. Eddy, age 85, of Livingston and formerly Billings, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Frontier Assisted Living Center. Memorial Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 3, at l PM, at the Community Congregational Church in Absarokee. Interment is at Rosebud Cemetery in Absarokee. A fellowship luncheon will follow the committal service at the church. Jim was born August 10, 1927 in Columbus, MT, the son of Karl and Marie (Beasley) Eddy. He was educated in Absarokee. Jim was in the Merchant Marines at the end of WWII. Jim married Marjorie Haugan in Fishtail, MT August 18, 1947. Their marriage was blessed with two sets of twin boys, and a son, Gary and Larry, Daniel and David, and Johnny Bill. Following their marriage Jim and Marj started their family in a cabin in Absarokee, where they had both sets of twins. In the last few years Jim was always at Marj's side to care for her. The last couple of months Jim had a hard time communicating, but every time Marj passed he would reach out to let her know he loved her. They had an unreal love for each other through 65 years of marriage. Jim started his driving career hauling gravel with his Dad. He started his career at Northern Pacific Transport as a grease monkey and soon became a driver. Jim and Marj moved a few times before settling in Billings, where Jim built their home himself. Jim retired from Northern Pacific at age 55, due to a disabling injury. They lived in Billings until 2010, when they moved to the Frontier in Livingston. Jim worked hard to provide for his family. Jim was always a gentleman and taught his sons to be the same. Jim enjoyed fishing, though Marj caught more and larger fish. Jim was a master hunter helping to feed his five boys. He was also an expert woodworker; crafting cradles, rocking horses and toys for the Grandkids. They loved to dance and were the envy of many. Jim also enjoyed music. He could play many instruments and played everything by ear. Jim especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Blessed be his memory.
