Janet Lois (Glaeser) Bailey passed away on October 16, 2015 at Livingston HealthCare Hospital after a lengthy illness. Cremation has taken place and per her wishes a service will not be held. Janet was born on July 11, 1948 to John and Mary Jane Glaeser in Winthrop, MN (or New Ulm, MN). She was the eldest of five children. Her early years were spent in Gibbon, MN. The family also spent time in Minneapolis before settling in Golden Valley, MN. Janet attended Robbinsdale High School, in Robbinsdale, MN; she graduated in 1966. During her high school years she was a member of the high school band and the Minneapolis Youth Orchestra. She loved all music genres. She enjoyed singing and directing choirs, listening to music and playing the piano. This love of music would remain with Janet throughout her life. Janet was an American Field Service foreign exchange student to Denmark in 1965-66 and received a presidential scholar award which was presented to her at the White House by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1976. She practiced law in Livingston, MT. In 1978, Janet married John Bailey in Livingston, MT and then opened her law practice. Janet served on the Board of BPW (Business and Professional Women) and also on the Board of the Friends of the Arts in Livingston. She was also a member of the Community Choir and had planned on singing in the choir again this year. Janet is survived by her husband John, sister, Joan Sherman of Evanston, IL and brother, Tom of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ann and brother, Robert.
