Lifetime Park County resident, Joan Roth died Friday, February 7, 2025 at Livingston HealthCare. She was 91 years old.
Margaret Joan Roth was born in Livingston, Montana on December 11, 1933 to the late Ray and Cora (Carr) Isbell. She graduated from Wilsall High School and attended Felt and Terrant Business school in Spokane, WA and then returned to Montana. She married James Roth June 1, 1952 then spent her life spreading love and warmth throughout her family and community. Whether living in Livingston, Wilsall, Billings, Malta, or Glasgow Air Force Base, she made friends everywhere she went. Among her many jobs throughout her life, she worked for the railroad, Pepsi Cola Bottling company, John's IGA, Safeway, Save-A-Mile, Pamida/Shopco, Ford Dealership and St. Marie. She was always a hard worker and took pride in any job she had. She loved "doing books" for the companies she worked for and in retail loved to talk to the customers.
Joan was the cherished Mom of her two grown children, John Roth (Niki) of Belgrade MT and Judy Saavedra (Bryce) of Belvue, KS. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in her life: Nicole Cleveland (Phoenix, AZ), Candace Bolz (Al) of Monument, CO, Beth Meyer (Adam) Billings, MT, Cory Tate (Lori) of Franktown, CO, James Roth (Corey) of Lewistown, MT, Shawn Roth (Sarah) of Belgrade, MT, Kade Hanson (Lisa) of Sidney, MT, Kylee Hanson of Irwin, ID, Brianna Roth (Denver, CO), and Jonah Bishop (Kelly) of Silver Lake, KS. Joan's legacy also lives on through her twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, who brought her immense joy and pride. Joan treasured watching them grow. They will all miss her smile, her warm hugs, and her storytelling. When asked what she was most proud of Joan would say her family, retiring at the age of 81 and, of course, her famous cinnamon roll recipe, which many will fondly remember. What Joan’s family will miss most is her boundless warmth. She made everyone who entered her life feel welcomed, loved, and valued—a rare and precious gift she so generously shared.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, James G. Roth, her son James M. Roth and her daughter Joyce A. Vennes.
Joan will forever be remembered, loved, and missed by all who knew her.
