John Albert Bowers

John Albert Bowers, 69, of Livingston, Montana passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017. Albert was born on August 18, 1948 in Livingston, MT. He graduated from Park High School in 1966; and then graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Agricultural Business and Economics. He served in the Montana National Guard. Albert was employed with the Northern Pacific Railroad as a boilermaker welder for 14 years. He worked in Yellowstone National Park for 24 years, retiring as Boardwalk Supervisor. He loved people and enjoyed making them laugh. He loved Park County, nature, and Montana. They were dear to his heart. Albert loved caring for and riding horses. He had many, many talents. He loved being creative with iron and loved solving any kind of problem. He died in doing what he loved doing most hunting. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Miriam Gail Bowers, brother, Tim Bowers (Cindy) of Livingston, sisters, Earlene Bowers of Livingston, Cyndi Sarrazin (Terry) of Iowa. He also has numerous nieces and nephews, Phillip Bowers, Belinda Sawyer, Emily ONeill, Alyssa Eggar, Laurent Sarrazin also, six great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Phillip Bowers and Emma (Perry) Bowers Nelson. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 15. Please meet at the cemetery. A Celebration of Life and coffee hour will follow the interment at the Livingston Christian Center (1400 Mount Baldy Drive) at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Livingston Pioneer Society, c/o LouAnn Skattum, 10 McDonald Creek Rd.; Livingston, MT 59047 or Friends of Library: 228 W. Callender, Livingston, MT 59047.
