Kathleen A. "Kathy" Nead, 61, of Livingston, Montana passed away peacefully Monday, December 11, 2014 at Bozeman Deaconess Hospita, following a long hard-fought battle against cancer. A Celebration of Kathys LIFE will be held Saturday, January 17th, 2015; 1:00 P.M. hosted at the New Beginning Church of God (101 South O Street, Livingston, MT). We will be having a POTLUCK fellowship meal following the service, please bring a dish to share. She was born to Meryle Rickett and Lodine Anderson on Aug. 23, 1953, in Miles City. They moved from Miles City to Bozeman before finally settling in Livingston, where Kathy graduated high school. Three months after graduating from Park High in 1971, she married the love of her life, Claud Nead, and from their home northeast of Livingston, they ran Riverside Wrecking and raised eight children together. Jesus Christ was her strength and drive in life, which was apparent the moment anyone met her. Every Sunday for the last 10 years, she could have been found on stage at the Livingston Church of God singing for the Lord. The love she had for her family and God extended way beyond immediate kin, and its hard to say just how many knew her as "Mom." She found great joy in creating, whether it was a painting, crocheting, or baking, and won many prizes at the Park County Fair for her various talents, especially baking. When spring would come, her garden would burst with fruits, vegetables and countless flowers which she took pride in. Through the years, she won many other awards by showing dogs and rabbits, and even won the Livingston Womens City Doubles tournament with her bowling partner. Kathy admired the beauty of a sunrise and sunset, and felt great peace while patiently fishing on the river or just being in the presence of God. Survivors include her husband, Claud Nead; seven children, Ryan, Adrien (Mike) Hillman, Simon, Tyson, Inga, Logan, and Olivia Nead, all of Livingston; four granddaughters; sisters Carol and Debbie; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Elecia Nead; and parents, Lodine Anderson and Meryle Rickett.
