Kathryn "Kay" Baker, 93, of Gardiner, Montana, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at her home following a battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by love and the kindness of many Gardiner citizens. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned per her request. Her ashes are to be interred in the Pilger family plot in the Gardiner Montana Cemetery. Mrs. Baker was born January 5, 1922 at Chico Hot Springs, Montana Hospital, the only child of Henry J. and Elizabeth Kahler Pilger. She spent her early life and received her education in Gardiner. After spending approximately 12 or so years away, through schooling, working and a first marriage, she returned in 1956. On October 15, 1965 she and Purl Baker of Gardiner were married in Livingston and made their home in Gardiner. Mr. Baker died in October of 2000. Survivors include numerous cousins. If desired memorial may be given to the charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
