Kirk A. Hedges, 56, of Livingston, Montana passed away Monday, April 11th, 2016 at his home in the arms of his loving wife Liberty, with 'daughter' Alandra by their side. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory. A celebration of life will be held in the summer. Memorials are appreciated to the family. Kirk was born on October 4, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the adopted son of Gordon and Corinne (Palmer) Hedges. They brought Kirk into their home when he about two years old. The family moved to the Dakotas in 1966. They lived in Harwood, ND, Bowden, ND, and Pine Ridge, SD until Kirk went out on his own. He became an over the road driver and worked at that profession for over thirty years. He traveled the country but made sure to steer clear of the north east. He came to Livingston in 2009 when he met the love of his life, Liberty Bell. On June 19, 2010, Kirk was united in marriage to Liberty, on the banks of the Yellowstone River. In 2013 Kirk was in an accident while driving in the Missoula area. He was forced to retire. He worked at the Livingston OReillys auto parts store as a pass-time. He and Liberty also delivered the Bozeman Chronicle in Livingston. They would start their day at 2:30 A.M. load the four legged kids in the car and enjoy the serenity together. Kirk recently reconnected with his adoptive family and his birth sister, Micki. He loved his blue grass music, any time he spent fishing or hunting was a gift and the "Lewis and Clark" floats down the river; they were not always on purpose He and Liberty loved to escape on camping trips every chance they got. He and friends enjoyed the fourth of July watching the fireworks from the middle of the street. He was a trickster too, he would move folks vehicles so they would have to go looking for them. He was a dependable hard working guy who would lend a hand to anyone in need. He always rooted for the underdog. He will be missed and remembered by many who knew him. He will be especially missed by those whom he loved and loved him at Counterpoint, where Liberty works as a home supervisor. Blessed be his memory.
