Larry Wilkens Jones

Larry Wilkins Jones slipped peacefully away from life on Thursday, December 14 surrounded by family, in the home he loved.

Larry was born in Ames, Iowa on November 17, 1939 to Meyer and Maribeth Jones. He was joined by siblings Ron and Charlotte.

As a National Merit Scholar he earned a Bachelor’s degree at Connecticut Wesleyan. This was followed by a Master’s in Business at the University of Chicago and a Master’s in Social Work at Aurora University in Illinois.

Larry married Malinda Jones in 1963. They shared 60 years of marriage and had 2 daughters: Heather and Gwynneth. Ten years ago a granddaughter Fiona (grandpa’s delight) arrived.

Larry spent 58 very satisfying years as a psychotherapist.

He enjoyed Black Powder Reenacting, dancing, his beloved dogs, horseback riding, and exploring Montana. Larry always felt he lived a very good life.

Larry is survived by his wife Malinda, brother Ron and wife Cindy, daughter Gwynneth, and granddaughter Fiona.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Heather, sister Charlotte, and his parents.

Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near

 And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear

All of my love around you soft and clear

And then, when you must come this way alone

A Memorial Gathering Open House will be held on Thursday, December 21st where Larry's family will receive friends from 10 a.m., until 12:00 p.m. at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. 3rd St., Livingston.  Refreshments will be served.   Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Wilsall Cemetery for those who wish to attend.
