Leslie Lyle LeRoy

Leslie Lyle LeRoy, 76, currently of Livingston, Montana, formerly of Faribault, Minnesota passed away on Monday, December 3rd, 2018.Les was born on August 18th, 1942, the seventh of thirteen children to parents Art and Lucille (Crist) LeRoy. Following school Les enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on April 28, 1960. He served his country stationed in the South Pacific, the Philippines, and Japan. Les was honorably discharged from the Marines into the reserves in 1965, having attained the rank of Corporal.Once he arrived back in Minnesota, he met the love of his life, Linda Schrot, and on January 22nd, 1966 they were united in marriage in Faribault, MN. They began their lives there and raised a family while working and farming. When retirement came calling in 2005, they decided to tour the western U.S. in their RV. They would travel and take "odd jobs" while on the road, their favorite being camp host with Oregon State Parks. In 2011 they came to Livingston, MT to live with their son, Lance.Les was a family man. He loved his children deeply and adored his grandchildren. He loved to travel, enjoyed every minute he spent in his flower garden, did sport shooting as a pastime, fished the lakes of Minnesota, and learned to fly fish the Yellowstone River. Les had a tremendous sense of humor, right up to his final days. He will be remembered by his children for being supportive without being judgmental. He will be missed as a dear husband, father, and granddad.Les is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda; children Travis (Charise) LeRoy, Stacy (Michael) Spitzack and Lance LeRoy; grandchildren Jacqueline, Nicole, and Geoffrey; siblings Margaret Miller, Donna Pulju, Russell LeRoy, Vivian Budde, LaVonne Thomas, Arthur LeRoy, Stanley LeRoy, and Julianne Eiler; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.Les was preceded in death by his parents Art and Lucille LeRoy; siblings Marion McBride, Henry LeRoy, Edwin Crist, Lester LeRoy and nephew Brennan Eiler.A family remembrance will be held in Livingston. Interment with veterans honors will be held at Corinthian Cemetery in Farmington, MN in the spring.
