Lorraine A. (Pugliano) Peterson

April 25, 1924 — August 30, 2016

Lorraine Antoinette Pugliano Peterson, 92, of Missoula, formerly of Livingston, MT passed away on August 30, 2016. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., on Monday, September 5th, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. 3rd St., Livingston, MT. Rosary will be said at 7p.m. on Monday, September 5th, and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th, both at St. Marys Catholic Church, Livingston, MT. Lorraine was born on April 25, 1924 to Louis and Mary Giordano (Jordan) Pugliano in Livingston, MT. Along with her sister, Gloria, she lived and attended schools in Livingston for all but a short time when her family lived in Twin Falls, ID. She graduated from Park County High School where she also worked as a clerk. She worked for B.B. Holcomb, CPA, Ryan Fruit Co., and occasionally took the dictation for Congressman J. F. OConnor. Lorraine married Walter Peterson on December 3, 1949 in Livingston and to this union two daughters were born. Christine and Corinne were raised in Livingston, attending school there. Lorraine applied for a clerical job with the Northern Pacific Railway Co. and became the first female to hold the position of steno-clerk in the Livingston roundhouse. Lorraine held this position until expecting her first child. Lorraine was full Italian with a great sense of style. She loved entertaining and was an excellent cook. There was never a shortage of food in the house, and she took great pleasure in watching her kids, grandkids and great grandkids eat the food she prepared!! She enjoyed traveling with Walter including their trips to Hawaii. Lorraine was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, P.E.O.Chapter P, and enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle. She also served on the St. Marys School Scholarship Committee. Lorraine and Walter lived in Livingston for many years. They moved to Missoula in February of 2008 where they resided at The Springs. Survivors include daughters Christine Glueckert of Williston, ND, and Corinne (Ralph) Kirscher of Missoula, seven grandchildren Matthew (Daisy) Glueckert, Kevin (Lacey) Glueckert, Kate Hernandez Glueckert (Oscar), Megan (Tad) Ploium, Adron (Jenn) Kirscher, Jacqueline (Drake) Van Zante, and Brian Kirscher and 12 great grandchildren: Chase, Quentin and Boston Glueckert, Harper and Andi Glueckert, Ryan Hernandez Gardell and Samuel Hernandez Glueckert, Ryan and Jack Kirscher, Logan and Cole Van Zante, and Isabel Kirscher Perez. She is also survived by sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Clark Thatcher, three nieces and a nephew. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Walter, parents Louis and Mary, infant brother Louis and infant sister Betty Louise, son-in-law Ben Glueckert, sister-in-law Eleanor Jacobs and brother-in-law, Gilbert Jacobs. 
We are grateful for the excellent care Walter and Lorraine received while living at The Springs and also appreciate Partners in Home Care for meeting her needs as she completed this journey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Mary's Scholarship Fund, 511 South F St, Livingston, MT 59047, Partners in Home Care, 2687 Palmer St., Missoula, MT. 59808, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
